Many years ago Dietrich Bonhoeffer warned us against creating communities that are “wish dreams”. When we live in a wish dream, we turn people into extensions of our ideals and a kind of cloning takes place.
I have to admit that when Im dreaming of fruitfulness in mission work, Im often primarily dreaming of a community of ‘Ideals’ instead of community of people. REPENT.
