The bible compels us to accept the mystery of evil. Notice I didn’t say “compels us to accept evil”. The bible never does that or asks us to do so. We are emphatically told to to reject and resist evil. Rather I mean that the bible leads us to accept that evil (especially in terms of it’s origin), a mystery that we human beings cannot finally understand or explain.
